Nel complesso, se si dovesse riassumere in una parola l'intero P6, quella che più calza è senz'altro "solido": il telefono della linea Ascend è ben piazzato su molti fronti, non eccelle sempre ma non sfigura mai, e il suo rapporto prezzo-prestazioni è uno dei più interessanti sul mercato.
L'hardware
Dalle foto dell'Ascend P6 è evidente: lo smartphone in questione paga un pesante dazio di immagine all'iPhone Apple, in particolare per quanto riguarda l'abbinamento alluminio-vetro che domina il frontale. Non c'è alcuna ritrosia nell'ammettere che effettivamente le somiglianze ci sono tutte, ma Huawei ha fatto qualcosa di più che solo clonare un iPhone: se il posteriore del telefono è in alluminio spazzolato, come solo dall'iPhone 5 in poi, la disposizione dei pulsanti sul solo fianco destro del terminale assieme a due sportelli (uno per la SIM e uno per la MicroSD), così come la rifinitura dei bordi (soprattutto dello spigolo inferiore) si distaccano dalla fonte di ispirazione. Ad esempio, Huawei rispolvera un dettaglio che un tempo era imprescindibile sui cellulari e che negli ultimi anni è andato un po' in disuso: il LED di notifica, che si accende per segnalare se c'è un messaggio in attesa, se la batteria è scarica o se il ciclo di ricarica è completo.
Vale la pena insomma, dato per assodato che una somiglianza tra il P6 e l'iPhone c'è, andare oltre e valutare il telefono per quello che è in grado di offrire. Il corpo del P6 è ben costruito, "solido" è ancora il modo migliore di dirlo. Lo schermo di Gorilla Glass è ampio, 4,7 pollici e realizzato con tecnologia IPS, ma non così grande da costringere a usare due mani per riuscire a raggiungerne tutte le estremità: la risoluzione è solo 720p, ma nell'uso quotidiano è davvero poco influente visto che si tratta di un bello schermo di ottima qualità e con una resa dei colori piuttosto efficace (e persino parzialmente modificabile nelle opzioni). In più, come accade su alcuni modelli Nokia, funziona anche con i guanti: una peculiarità che non dispiace. A parte i pulsanti per accensione e volume, non ci sono altri tasti: questa è una differenza sostanziale rispetto all'iPhone, visto che come i più recenti e avanzati smartphone Android il P6 demanda i controlli a tre tasti software che appaiono e scompaiono sulla parte bassa dello schermo quando ce ne è bisogno.
